Dear Hardwood Federation Supporters:

 

It has been a busy week in Washington. Thank you to those who have been helping with the previous alert on the inclusion of hardwood in the Senate Energy Bill.

 

A new issue has emerged regarding the boilers used in many hardwood facilities. The EPA has issued a new ruling on Boiler MACT (Maximum Achievable Control Technology), which would significantly increase the cost of compliance for many hardwood operations depending on boilers for their energy. 

 

Please click here and send a quick, pre-written letter to your House Representative on the subject. This letter asks that he or she sign onto a letter being circulated by other Congressman to be sent to the EPA, which addresses the harm this new ruling would inflict on manufacturing jobs.

 

Hardwood Federation will also be submitting comments to EPA.  Thank you for your help on this important matter,
